小男孩馬基（麥克斯·雷諾丹 Max Renaudin 配音）一家人被獵人綁架，當(dāng)作了奴隸準(zhǔn)備販賣到法國。馬基趁著獵人熟睡之機(jī)，偷偷掙脫了手銬，開始了逃亡。路上遇到了長頸鹿“扎拉法”（黛博拉·弗朗索瓦 Déborah Fran?ois 配音），不幸的是獵人沿著腳印追了上來，將“扎拉法”的母親殺害了，馬基答應(yīng)“扎拉法”的母親一定會照顧好他。危急關(guān)頭沙漠王子漢森（西蒙·阿布卡瑞安 Simon Abkarian 配音）挺身而出，獵人被趕走了，漢森牽著“扎拉法”準(zhǔn)備回自己的王國，馬基信守諾言一直跟著漢森?；氐酵鯂?，漢森奉命將“扎拉法”帶到法國，獻(xiàn)給法國國王，請求他們出兵援助他們。他們從港口乘著熱氣球出發(fā)，經(jīng)過阿爾卑斯和馬賽達(dá)到巴黎，一路上艱難坎坷，馬基能帶“扎拉法”回非洲嗎，法國國王是否會出兵援救呢…… 本片根據(jù)十九世紀(jì)真實(shí)事件改編，“扎拉法”是一頭非洲長頸鹿，被當(dāng)成埃及帕夏送給法國國王的禮物，成了歐洲的“大明星”。
